Stab It n’ Grab It - German Style

skewered landjaeger, apples, cheese, pickles and pretzels

Ahhhh, the good old German charcuterie board. Some like to be a tad maniacal when it comes to laying out a gorgeous food spread, while others (ahem, not naming family names!), want to get straight to the point.

So without further ado, we present to you the Bavarian Meats Stab It n’ Grab It Skewer.

Ingredients

  • Bavarian Meats Landjaeger, Hot & Spicy Landjaeger, or Lil’ Landjaeger (or even better, a variety!)

  • Cheese Chunks - We love a good combination. Cheddar, Gouda, Havarti. Feeling extra German? Go for Emmentaler or Butterkase.

  • Dill Pickles - The baby ones! Don’t even think about the sweet ones, because that’s just weird.

  • Apples - Pick your favorite. Looking for suggestions? Honeycrisp or Granny Smith.

  • Pretzel Bites – The soft ones. Have you ever tried to poke a hole through a hard pretzel?

    To assemble:

  • Bamboo skewers

    Directions

  • Chunk up the Landjaeger of choice into bite-size pieces. Set aside. Eat one (or more!) as a “taste tester” - and, honestly, we know you will!

  • Cube up your cheeses. Set aside.

  • Chop your baby dills in half. Set aside.

  •  Slice apples into thick slices. Set aside.

  • Have pretzel bites prepared and off to the side.

  • Now that you’ve done the enormous amount of prep work, you are ready to “stick” the landing. Stab, poke or stick Landjaeger, cheese, pickles, apples, and pretzels onto skewers. For best results, alternate ingredients.

  • Time to grab and enjoy. Best to enjoy like you give a Shish-Kabob.

Pro tip: Someone in the family (not naming names) knows best when it comes to getting good food ready, pronto. So, listen up! Grab pre-cut cheese cubes and pre-sliced apples at the store to save time.
