Pike Place Market Delicatessen

Part lunchtime destination, part German grandmother’s pantry – our store in the heart of Pike Place Market has everything for now and later. Enjoy a meal in the store or have it shipped to your front door.

In addition to our premium line of sausages, wieners, cold cuts, and smoked meats, we also specialize in a million other things. Got a craving for some sauerkraut? Good for you. Our Hengstenberg Sauerkraut is the sweetest, mildest kraut around. It’s also a good source of vitamin C, if you’re into that kinda thing.

If you yearn for candies from the Old Country, our store is well-stocked with Kinder, Milka Chocolate, Ritter Sport, and the ever-popular German Haribo gummies – made with real fruit juices and no artificial colors. We also have Deutschland’s favorite soft drinks, including Mezzo Mix, Almdudler, and Solo.

But what about the blood sausage? (Everyone always asks us that.) Bavarian Meats is one of the few producers that has not lost the art of traditional blood sausage. Contrary to popular belief, it will not put hair on your chest. It does make a great substitute for English blood pudding, though! It also happens to be delicious.

We carry 40 German beers at any given time

Bier. (That’s German for beer.) Bavarian Meats carries about 40 German beers at any given time, just to be safe. From Hefeweizens to Hofbräus and Dunkels to… more Dunkels – we carry beers from every region of Germany. Set aside a weekend and take yourself on a tour.

Calm down, there’s wine too. We carry German wines and sekt that come and go with the seasons: Silvaner Trocken from Franken; apple wine from Frankfurt; Grüner Veltliner; Zweigelt; and plenty of Nürnberger Glühwein for the winter months.

Menu items feature our own meats and sausagesAnd if you’re looking for a lunch like grandma used to make, look no further. You will find Weisswurst from Munich, potato salad from Berlin, and Vienna-style schnitzel. All of our menu items feature our own meats and sausages, and all of our side dishes, salads, and sauces are made fresh daily in-house. Going back to work is up to you.

Buuuut if you are eating lunch here, you should probably grab some Fleischsalad. It’s a hearty sandwich spread made in-house with a blend of Bavarian Meats cold cuts and special seasoning. Your sandwiches will never be the same.

And boy do we know how to party platter. Meat and cheese, cheese only, cake and dessert, snackers with smoked sausages, fish, and even vegetable platters for the vegetable people.

But let’s not forget about the mustard. (That’s a German sin.) We carry various German mustards ranging from mild and medium to spicy and sweet. Gabby’s favorites are Löwensenf, hot Düsseldorfer and sweet from München, and Gabby is never wrong. Fun fact: mustard seeds have more antioxidants than blueberries!

We also have pickles. Pickles are very important.
